Helmet Peak Fire Department Station 280 serves approximately 3,500 residents across 30 square miles south of Tucson. Our all-volunteer team is committed to protecting life and property around the clock.
Our trained volunteer firefighters respond to structural, wildland, and vehicle fires throughout our 30-square-mile coverage area. We are equipped and ready to protect lives and property 24/7.
HPFD provides first-response EMS to our community. Our certified EMTs and CEPs deliver critical pre-hospital care and stabilization until transport units arrive.
From vehicle extrications to technical rescues, our team is trained to handle a wide range of emergency rescue scenarios across our rural and semi-rural service area.
We respond to hazmat incidents and coordinate with county and state agencies to mitigate chemical, biological, and environmental hazards within our jurisdiction.
Beyond emergency response, HPFD assists residents with non-emergency situations — from welfare checks to community safety inspections — as a true community partner.
We offer fire safety education, CPR awareness, and community outreach programs to help residents of San Xavier and Sahuarita stay safe and prepared.
